Description
Jewish Awareness Ministries has been sharing the gospel with Jewish people since 1944. We believe the biblical responsibility for reaching all people with the gospel, including Jewish people, rests upon the local church. Therefore, the aim of this ministry, then, is to make local congregations aware of both the Jewish people in their outreach area and of their responsibility to reach them with the gospel.
We have two general areas of service for people with a heart for Jewish people and a call to Jewish ministry – Missionaries and Field Representatives. Our Missionaries are men and women who spend the majority of their time developing outreaches to the Jewish community they live in through such means as Bible studies, campus ministries, visitation, nursing homes, etc. They endeavor to get new Jewish believers established in solid, fundamental, Bible believing churches. They are ready to assist local churches in their area in reaching Jewish people with the gospel.
Our second area of service is that of Field Representative. These men have often been in the pastorate as they spend much of their time ministering the word of God in churches, Bible colleges, and conferences.
Jewish Awareness Ministries is an advocate for the nation of Israel. We believe God has established Israel as a nation today in fulfillment of His promises (Ezekiel 37:8; Isaiah 11:10-12). Although God’s richest blessings for Israel lie ahead in the millennial reign of its Messiah Jesus, it is still, today, the “apple of His eye” (Zechariah 2:8). We believe that Israel has a right to the land biblically, and that it also has a legal and moral right to be a nation in that land. Genesis 12:3, “I will bless them that bless thee…,” and the scores of biblical promises that the land is given to the Jewish people by God as an everlasting possession, Psalm 105:8-11; Ezekiel 37:21-27, makes it incumbent that we support Israel’s right to be in the land of Israel as a nation.
With many Jewish mission agencies moving away from their historical, as well as biblical, model of ministry this book has been prepared for pastors and others who are interested in learning some of the distinctives of this ministry in relation to a number of subjects important in Jewish ministry.
